Elina Svitolina First Qualifier to Qatar Total Open Semi-Finals

Doha, February 14 (QNA) - Ukraine's Elina Svitolina became the first player to qualify to the semi-finals of Qatar Total Open after beating Czech Karolina Pliskova. In the tournament held at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, Svitolina who participated with an invitation card from the organizing committee controlled the match and won the first set 6/4, then the second set and finished the third by 6/2. Elina Svitolina, 24, wants to be the first Ukrainian player to win Qatar Total Open, where no Ukrainian player has ever won the title. Svitolina won 12 titles in her professional career that began in 2010, most notably the 2018 ATP Masters, but did not yet succeeded in getting any Grand Slam title. (QNA)
