Equestrian: Al Rumaihi and Al Ghazali Win in First Day of Local Championship

Doha, January 11 (QNA) - Mubarak Youssef Al Rumaihi won Friday the first day of round six of the local Qatari equestrian championship in its second edition, held in partnership with Al Shaqab. The championship consists of 12 rounds, the last of which takes place in April. The total prize money of the competition is QR1.3 million. Al Rumaihi finished the round in 26.6 seconds. Said Nasser Al Qadi and Khalid Mohammed Al Emadi got second and third place respectively. Mohammed Jassim Al Ghazali also won today in another match, finishing it in 25.91 seconds. The championship was first held based on the directives of President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani with the aim of promoting the sport in society. A large number of riders participate in the competition. Companies and institutions will also get the opportunity to sponsor talents. The championship has five age categories, the youngest of which is 6-12 years old. The oldest category is above 21 years old. Al Ghazali expressed his delight at winning, praising the level of competition and the organization of the event by Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club and Al Shaqab. (QNA)
