Father of Iran tennis dies

TEHRAN,June 9(MNA) – Javad Derafshi-Javan, known as father of Iran tennis, passed away at the age of 85 on Thursday. He was father of former Iran tennis coach Kambiz Derafshi-Javan. Javad Derafshi-Javan died in Tehran’s Melli Bank Hospital after a long term illness. He was laid to rest at the Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery on Saturday and will be missed by all his colleagues and relatives. The Tehran Times staff offers its heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family.
