Football: Qatar Earns Important Victory Against Australia

Doha, October 14 (QNA) - The Qatari National team recoded an important win in a friendly against Australia, as the team steps up preparations for the 22nd Gulf Cup of Nations in Saudi Arabia and the 2015 AFC Asia Cup. Khalfan Ibrahim scored the only goal of the game in the 61st minute. The win is also an important milestone's since it was Qatar's first ever defeat of Australia in five tries. The Kangaroos won three and the teams drew once in their previous encounters. It is also Qatar's third consecutive victory since it started its training camp in October. The previous two wins were 3-0 against Uzbekistan and 5-0 against Lebanon. (QNA)
