GCC sport strategic plan panel meeting held

Manama, Feb. 6 (BNA): Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Strategic Planning Office Director Hasan Abdullatif said the recently-held meeting of the joint GCC action march in the field of sports in Riyadh brought up a number of fruitful recommendations and positive results. He added that the Committee has developed a dual five-year and ten-year strategic plan in addition to setting up the vision, mission, core values and sub-themes and strategic objectives. The plan aims to promote community sportby spreading awareness among the GCC society on the importance of sport to avoid common diseases and promote competitive sport in different tournaments at all levels. Abdullatif said the meeting outcomes will be presented to the Executive Office of Their Highness and Excellencies President of National GCC Olympic Committees, which consists of general secretaries of the National Olympic Committees, to be held this month, to submit any comments or suggestionsand approve a draft for the strategic plan. He added that the committee will be holding its second meeting after the executive office approves the plan in order to initiate the preparation of the strategy draft. The committee also includes members Rashid Ibrahim Al Mutawa of the UAE, Badr bin Ibrahim Al Mansour of Saudi Arabia, Mansour bin Salman Al Touqi of Oman, Khalid bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi of Qatar and Abdul Majeed Mohammed AlMousawi of Kuwait.
