General Secretary of AGCFF Describes Draw for 24th Arabian Gulf Cup as Balanced

Doha, November 15 (QNA) - General Secretary of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) Jassim Al Rumaihi described the draw for the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup in Doha, which was held today, as balanced, wishing all teams participating in the competition success and outstanding performance levels. Al Rumaihi said in a statement that the confrontations will be strong, especially since all the teams will play to win the title, adding all the teams are going well and have outstanding levels in the Asian qualifiers. It is difficult, he said, to predict the winning team, but that could be more clearer after the second round when the performance of the eight participating teams is known. He added that preparations for the start of the tournament are proceeding in full swing, noting Qatar's keenness to organize an amazing 24th Arabian Gulf Cup. For his part, head of the referees committee of the AGCFF Tarek Ahmed said that they will seek help from arbitration teams from Belgium and Switzerland. He added that after the number of teams increased, each country will send an arbitration team consisting of 2 referees and 2 assistant referees. He pointed out that the application of video assistant referee (VAR) in the tournament allows the principle of transparency for all teams and reduces mistakes. (QNA)
