Halep Sets Her Sight on Qatar Total Open in Saturday's Final

Doha, February 16 (QNA) - Qatar Total Open finalist Simona Halep said that she will be looking to win the title for the second, when she meets Elise Mertens tomorrow in the final. Halep reached the final after beating Elina Svitolina. Commenting on the game, Halep said it was daunting to play against Svitolina again after she lost to the Ukrainian the last two times they met. "The two finals that I played against her in Rome I gave up and I was not ready to fight," Halep said before adding that "now I change that, and it makes me happier, because I showed myself that I'm able to do that." On whether being the top ranked players puts more pressure on her to win, she said that she never thinks about that. Rather, she focuses on improving her performance levels on the court. Halep also said that she promised herself not to surrender in any match she plays. On the fans support, she said that it was essential for her. The Romanian praised the role the fans play in improving her concentration, adding that they give her the energy to make every play. (QNA)
