Hamilton takes pole position at Bahrain Grand Prix

Manama, Apr.18 (BNA): Mercedes star driver Lewis Hamilton today took pole position for the 2015 Gulf Air Bahrain F1 Grand Prix, scheduled to be held tomorrow, Sunday (April 19), in the first night race of the season. The Mercedes defending champion dominated the practice session, which was held today (April18) at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), the home of the motorsport in the Middle East. Hamilton proved fastest in the 3rd practice session, topping the timesheets with a best lap time of one minute 032.571 seconds, to start tomorrow from pole position. His nearest rival, four-time champion Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari finished second while Hamilton's Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg was third, leaving Finn Kimi Raikkonen in the second Ferrari, in the fourth position. The remaining top ten on the race grid featured Valtteri Bottas Williams-Mercedes 1m 33.381s, teammate, Brazilian Felipe Massa, Williams-Mercedes 1m 33.744s, Australian Daniel Ricciardo, Red Bull-Renault 1m 33.832s, German Nico Hulkenberg ,Force India-Mercedes 1m 34.450s, Spanish Carlos Sainz Jr, Toro Rosso-Renault 1m 34.462s and French Romain Grosjean, Lotus-Mercedes 1m 34.484s
