HH Shaikh Khalid expresses pride in Bahraini para-athletes

Manama, Aug. 6 (BNA): HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee extended his sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Charity and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports on the achievement accomplished by Bahrain's Juniors Paralympic National Team in the second edition of the World Para Athletics Junior Championships, held in Switzerland. The Bahrainis have been in brilliant form in Switzerland with Saad Mohammed achieving the gold medal in the discus throw competition, a similar feat made by country fellow Maryam Al Humaidi in the shot put contest. Al Humaidi stole the limelight in the event as she also bagged other two bronzes; one of them in the javelin throw and the other in the discus throw. "We are proud of our champions' achievement in Switzerland. It adds to the series of accomplishments that have been made by our paralympic athletes in continental and international levels. These results confirm their outstanding levels as well as their keenness to honour the Kingdom of Bahrain in all international events and to have the Bahraini flag flying high in all arenas," HH Shaikh Khalid said. Moreover, HH Shaikh Khalid congratulated HE Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Paralympic Committee and its members for their great efforts that have led to accomplishing such results.
