HH Shaikh Nasser crowns champions

Manama, June1 (BNA): “Tumooh” team has won the 11th Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa Ramadan Football Championship after beating Batelco Gunners United 5-3 after extra time. His Majesty’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa attended the final and crowned the winning team with the trophy. The thrilling final was held at the Khalifa Sports City stadium, in the presence of French international footballer and Real Madrid professional striker Karim Benzema and other leading personalities and state officials. The first half ended in a draw but “Tumooh” team managed to seal the final score 5/3 after extra time, claiming the 11th Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa Ramadan Football Championship. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and Karim Benzema crowned the “Tumooh” team players with the trophy and gold medals and presented Batelco Gunners players with silver medals. Winners of individual titles were also rewarded. The thrilling final was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, son of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Batelco Gunners United honorary president. SCYS secretary-general and Asian Football Federation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa and other senior officials also attended the final match.
