HM the King patronises Football Cup Final

Manama, Mar. 28. (BNA) – His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa patronised at the National Stadium today the final of HM the King’s Cup between East Riffa and Busaiteen football clubs. Upon arrival, HM King Hamad was welcomed by the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the General Organisation for Youth and Sport Hesham Al Jowdar and members of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Football Association (BFA). Then, a troupe played the national anthem, and the captains of the two finalist teams greeted HM the King and offered him two flower bouquets. Ministers, senior officials, presidents of sports associations and clubs, guests and a large audience attended the final. At the end of the game, won by East Riffa 2-1, BFA board members Ahmed Al-Nuaimi and Ali Al-Buainain presented HM King Hamad with a commemorative gift. After that, HM the King shook hands with the referees and the players and presented them with medals. He then presented East Riffa Club President Shaikh Nasser bin Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa with the trophy. HM the King congratulated East Riffa Club for the victory, and praised the outstanding efforts of the players and the technical staff. He also hailed the efforts of the SCYS, led by Shaikh Nasser, to enhance the youth and sport movement in the kingdom.
