Iceland Team Beats Indonesia 4-1 In Jakarta

JAKARTA, Jan 15 (Antara) - The Iceland national soccer team defeated the squad of Indonesia 4-1 (1-1) in a friendly international which was held in the Bung Karno (GBK) sports stadium here on Sunday evening. The match took place at the presence of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Vice President Jusuf Kalla, some ministers, and ranking officials soon after the inauguration of the renovation completion of the GBK by the president. In the match, the Indonesian player, Ilham Udin Armaiyn scored the single goal in the 28th minute. Meanwhile, goals for the Iceland team were scored by Albert Gudmundsson in the 45+2 minute, the 66th minute (penalty kick) and the 71st minute and by Arnor Smarason in the 59th minute. At the first half of the match, the Indonesian team gave pressure through both sides of the wings that were conducted by Febri Hariyadi and Osvaldo Haay. The match was led by referee Araki Yusuke. Indonesia surprisingly scored a goal in the 28th minute through Ilham Udin Armaiyn who was fielded as a central striker. This was the second victory for the Iceland team during its tour in Indonesia after the first game on Thursday (Jan 11) that Iceland crushed the Indonesia Selection 6-0. The trial match between the Iceland against the Indonesia Selection was conducted in Sleman, Yogyakarta.
