India Won't Take Oman Lightly - Coach

KUANTAN (Pahang, Malaysia), Nov 19 (Bernama) -- Asian hockey powerhouse India will not take their opponent, Oman, lightly when both clash in a 2015 Junior Asia Cup quarterfinal match although the Middle East team was uninspiring in group matches. India coach Harendra Singh said Oman is not a team to be taken lightly as the situation would be different at quarterfinal stage. "The tournament is divided into two stages, the league and final in which each team must play their best. We need to continue with the good run now and hope spectators will be entertained,” he said at a press conference here. He said the rainy weather in Malaysia would not be a major obstacle for the players to continue their fine performance. Meanwhile, Oman coach, Oliver Michael Kurtz acknowledged that India was a great team with every player able to demonstrate skills of their own in the tournament. “The capability of India cannot be denied but we will not be easily intimidated but will be prepared for each match instead. We are in the process of improving our mistakes and the quarterfinal is a good start for us to redeem our mistakes at the group stage,” he said. -- BERNAMA
