Indonesia Sets Twice Trial Matches Before Sea Games

JAKARTA, Feb 17 (Antara) - The All Indonesia Sailboats Sport Association (Porlasi) has set twice international matches namely in Vietnam and Thailand before participating in the 2017 SEA Games which will be held in Malaysia. "We will take part in the world championship RS One windsurfing in Vietnam in June and the Optimist competition in July in Pattaya, Thailand," according to Secretary General of the Porlasi Executive Board (PB Porlasi), Othniel Mamahit here on Thursday. In addition to the international trial matches, PB Porlasi has also scheduled the training center for the double handed athletes in Australia prior to the SEA Games. "We also need to arrive three weeks before the SEA Games that will last in the Langkawi Islands, Kedah, Malaysia. The early presence is as an effort to adjust our athletes against the water current location," Mamahit explained, adding that Mamahit went on to say that Porlasi needs 19 athletes to joint 14 games in the SEA Games. Additionally, he said Porlasi also needs two foreign coaches namely for windsurfing class game from Italy and the double handed class from Singapore.
