Indonesia Wins Gold, Silver And Bronze Medals In NEAMC 2018

BEIJING, March 5 (Antara)- Indonesian students win one gold, one silver and three bronze medals in the North East Asian Mathematics Competition (NEAMC) held here, March 1-3, 2018. Indonesia sent a 12-member student delegation from Bunda Mulia International High School in the competition, the Indonesian embassy in Beijing said, here, Sunday. The 12 students aged between 14 and 17 years old, were grouped in four teams, namely the Jengkols, Phytagoras, Cis Alpha, and Modus. They were accompanied by several teachers including Primajati Hayuningtyas, Heriawan Kerto Marsadi, and Syahreal Reza Tjais, while participating in the NEAMC 2018. The NEAMC is a qualifying round for the annual World Mathematics Championships finals. The March competition this year was held simultaneously in Beijing (China), Seoul (South Korea), Manila (The Philippines), and Singapore. The NEAMC 2018 in Beijing was participated in by 162 students from Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, and Indonesia. The participants were grouped in 27 teams of senior high school students and 27 teams of junior high school students. They competed in a total of nine rounds. Amita Pradhani (16), winner of the gold medal, is entitled to advance to the World Mathematics Championship final to be held in Melbourne, Australia, on June 25 until July 1, 2018. Prior to participating in the competition, the Indonesian students visited the Indonesian embassy in Beijing and were received by Indonesian Charge d'affairs Listyowati.
