Indonesian Soccer Defeats Morocco 1-0

Palembang, S Sumatra, Sept 20 (Antara) - The Indonesian soccer team successfully defeated the Morocco`s team at the third Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) that took place at Sriwijaya Jakabaring stadium here on Thursday night (Sept.19). The only goal was netted by Fandi Eko Utomo in the 58th minute of the match, which was commenced before the ISG`s official opening ceremony on September 22, 2013. Since the beginning both teams were trying to attack the opponent`s defense, but there was no goal netted at the first round. During the first round of the match, referee gave two yellow cards, one for Indonesian player, Alfin and the other for Morocco`s Hajmouj. In the second round, both teams stepped up their play in order to break the defense of the opponent`s goal. One of Indonesian player Diego, in the second round, got a yellow card for committing violation. Meanwhile, another host country`s Fandi Eko in the 57th minute was about to net the ball, but the Morocco`s goal keeper can save the country`s wicket. The referee finally gave red card to Diego in the 67th minute. The Indonesian coach, Rahmat Darmawan, on the occasion fielded Kurnia Mega (goal keeper) David Laly, Alfin Ismail, Syamsir Alam, Fandi Eko, Rizki R, Aldaier, Dedi, Manahati, Andri Ibo and Bayu Gatra. On the other hand, Morocco fielded Banachour B, Chibi, Saidi, Al Asbahi, El Jaaouani, Elouadi, Hajmouj, Qasmi, El Karti, Moussadak and El Quardy. Apart from that, Turkey`s soccer team defeated Iraq`s team 3-2 in the game which lasted in the Bumi Sriwijaya campus stadium. The ISG which is sponsored by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will be officially opened on September 22, and will last until October 1, 2013.
