IOC Renews Accreditation of Aspetar as Research Center to Prevent Injury and Maintain Athletes Health

Doha, January 16 (QNA) - The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has renewed its accreditation of Aspetar as a research center to prevent injury and maintain athletes' health for an additional four years from 2019 to 2022, and therefore joining a list of 11 medical centers around the world qualified for accreditation. Aspetar was awarded the same accreditation in 2014, and by renewing the IOC confidence, Aspetar will undertake as well as the ten research centers around the world in the coming years to research and develop ways to prevent and treat sports injuries. Aspetar will join also an international network of experts and scientists specializing in the treatment of these injuries and research on disease and prevention, which is in line with the recommendations of the Olympic agenda 2020, which puts the health of athletes at the heart of the priorities of the Olympic Movement.
