Iran Beats Brazil 3-2 In Volleyball

Tehran, June 14, IRNA – Iranˈs national volleybal team, in the first home game in the 2014 World League, defeated Brazil, the nine-time World League Champions, in Tehran. The Iranian squad overpowered Brazil in sets 2,4,5 with scores 25-17, 27-25, and 15-9. In sets 1,3, Brazil defeated Iran 25-20 and 25-18. The match was Iranˈs first home encounter with Brazil in the fourth week of FIVB World League. 12,000 fans watched the game in Azadi Sports Complex in Tehran. The FIVB Volleyball World League began on May 23 and will end with the Finals taking place on July 20. Iran has been drawn in Pool A that sees worldˈs best volleyball teams Italy, Brazil, and Italy. Iranˈs second encounter with Brazil is on Sunday.
