Iran to play Jordan in FIBA Asia Cup quarter-final

TEHRAN,July 16(MNA)--For the third time in four FIBA Asia events Iran and Jordan will play each other. The Iranian basketball team defeated India 62-49 in Group A on Tuesday morning. Defending champion Iran will play Jordan at the Wuhan Gymnasium, Wuhan, China on Thursday. Runner-up Japan will face Chinese Taipei and India play the Philippines. And host China is to face Singapore. In the semi-final round, winner of Iran and Jordan match will play either India or the Philippines. The FIBA Asia Cup, between 2004 and 2010 known as the FIBA Asia Stankovic Cup, is a basketball tournament which takes place every two years between teams of the continent. The 5th edition of the competitions has started on July 11 in Wuhan, Hubei, China and will finish on July 19.
