Iran Ranks 18th In Cycling Event

New Delhi, March 16, IRNA – Iran ranks 18th in the cycling event in the world, President of the Cycling Federation of Iran Khosro Ghamari said on Friday. Ghamari who is in New Delhi to attend the Asian Cycling Championships made the remarks in an interview with IRNA. “Iran’s cycling is progressing forward and it has ranked 18 in the word based on the World Cycling Federation’s reports.” Ghamari underlined that international federation of cycling in a meeting held in New Delhi on Thursday, invited Iran to attend the conference of top 18 countries of the world in cycling in Geneva in the next two months ahead. “Iran, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and China are those countries which will represent Asia in the Geneva conference on cycling and 18 world’s top countries in cycling will discuss ways of development of this sport in the world.” Iran’s National Cycling Team on Tuesday took the second place in the piste category of the Asian Cycling Championships in New Delhi. The Iranian cyclists won three silver and three bronze medals as well as a fourth and a sixth title in piste category to take the second place. South Korea ranked first while Japan took the third place./end
