Iran Ranks 2nd In Intl. Wrestling Championships In Turkey

Ankara, March 3, IRNA – Iran on Saturday finished runner up in the International Deaf Freestyle Wrestling Championships in Ankara, Turkey. Five teams from Turkey, one from Iran and one from Ukraine had taken part in the contests in which Iran finished second with 65 points. The host, Turkey, stood champion. The Iranian wrestlers were Forud Hojjati, Hossein Nouri, Mojtaba Latifi in the 55kg, 66kg and 96 kg categories. All received gold medals. Mohammad Siahpoush, Saeed Younessi, and Rasould Dayyani took the second place in the 60kg, 74kg and 84 kg categories. Mohammad Mahboubi in the 120kg category ranked third. The Greco-Roman event will be held as of Saturday afternoon./end
