Iran ranks 3rd in Wrestling Worldcup

TEHRAN, Feb. 21 (MNA) – Iran’s national team of Greco-Roman wrestling stood at the third place in FILA World Cup 2015. In the third-fourth match held at the Azadi Complex on Friday, the Iranian wrestling team defeated Turkey 6-2 and finished in third place. Hosting Iran lost to Azerbaijan 6-2 in Group A and defeated Sweden (6-2) and Germany (7-1) respectively. Azerbaijan won the World Cup and Russia stood on second place after being defeated by Azeri wrestlers. The Greco-Roman Wrestling Worldcup 2015 competitions were held on 19-20 February in Tehran, and Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Hungary, Sweden, Germany and Turkey attended the event.
