Iranian grandmaster earns FST title

TEHRAN, Apr. 04 (MNA) – Iranian chess grandmaster Morteza Mahjoub has earned the valuable title of FIDE Senior Trainer (FST). The FIDE Senior Trainer (FST) Title marks an honor which has been awarded to a limited number of world chess coaches. Previously, Armenian chess player Hamlet Toumanian of Tehran as well as the Iranian chess International Master Khosro Harandi had managed to gain the precious position in the World Chess Federation (FIDE). Morteza Mahjoub marks the third Iranian chess coach who has entered the list of FIDE Senior trainers. The 36-year-old Iranian coach, who has led Iran’s Junior and Cadet national teams, is currently the youngest FST. Born on March 20, 1980, Mahjoub is an Iranian chess grandmaster, who previously held the world record for simultaneous exhibition, which he set on August 13, 2009 where he walked 18 hours and won 397 of the games, 90 draws and 13 loses.
