Iranian judoka dies at 35

TEHRAN,Oct.12(MNA)--Iranian judoka Kazem Sarikhani died after suffering brain damage at the age of 35 on Thursday. The former Asian champion died at the Firoozabadi Hospital in Shahr-e Rey, a Tehran superb. Sarikhani won the gold medal at the 2000 Asian Judo Championships, where he defeated Ruslan Seilkhanov from Kazakhstan at the 81kg weight class in Osaka, Japan He was laid to rest at the Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery on Friday. Sarikhani will be remembered by all his colleagues and relatives. The Tehran Times staff offers its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
