Iranian Women Handball Players Beat Indonesian Hosts 53-4

Jakarta, Dec 8, IRNA – Iranian National Women's Handball Team in opening game of Asian Women's Handball Championship beat host team Indonesia in Yogyakarta city Friday evening in and astonishing 53 to 4 result. The Handball Federation website reported that in this game the Iranian National Team gained this beat their host competitors mightily to provide them the required high team spirit to face the powerful North Korea Team on Saturday. The other games of the Iranian National Women's Handball Team include: Saturday December 8th: Iran-North Korea Tuesday December 11th: Iran-South Korea Wednesday December 12th: Iran-Taiwan The 14th Asian Women's Handball Championship Games is the scene for the competition of 12 Asian teams which started the contest in the framework of two six-team groups here Friday. The Iranian team is grouped with North Korea, South Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Taiwan, Indonesia, and China. In the second group there are teams from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Japan, Kuwait, and India. At the end of the Asian handball competitions the top three teams would be qualified for the 2013 Serbia Women World Handball Championship. The 2013 World Women's Handball Championship, the 21st event hosted by the International Handball Federation, will be held in Serbia on 7–22 December, 2013. South Korea was the other applicant for this championship. The decision to select Serbia as the host was announced 2 October 2010./end
