It's A Pink Saturday At Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 (Bernama) -- It is a 'Pink Saturday' once again at the ongoing Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia golf tournament at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club in Bukit Kiara, here. The Pink Saturday was initiated since 2010 in conjunction with the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The organiser, Sime Darby Berhad, showed its support through their official charitable partner, Cancer Research Malaysia which was formerly known as the Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation (CARIF) by embellishing the club grounds with the shades of pink. Some of the players competing clad in their pink golfing attires and so did the officials, crew and spectators. "Since 2010, Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia has donated over RM2 million (US$490 milllion) to Cancer Research Malaysia to continue its research works to find a cure for cancer," said Sime Darby Foundation chairman Musa Hitam. All proceeds from the sales of the site-events and tickets will be contributed to Cancer Research Malaysia. -- BERNAMA
