James Alpe d'Heuz Kona preparations

Manama, July 27 (BNA): Bahrain Endurance Team 13's James Cunnama returns to the famous Alpe d’Huez Triathlon this weekend, seeking another win to add to his 2010 title here. The South African says, "I have been coming to Alpe d'Huez Triathlon for years and always used it as a big bike week in the Alps to prepare for races later in the season. This year is no different, with of course Ironman World Champs as the goal. Of course a win would make the week that much better, and I feel I am in shape to go for it." He says, "This is an iconic race and should be on every triathletes bucket list, if only as an excuse to climb the famous Alpe d'Huez climb." The triathlon’s cycle course boasts the 21-bend mountain climb used as part of the Tour de France. Last year despite a slower bike split than his best performance here, Cunnama ran himself into second place.
