Katara Beach Volleyball Tournament 2016 Kicks Off Thursday

Doha, June 08 (QNA) - The second edition of Kataras Ramadan Beach Volleyball Tournament 2016, organized by the Beach Management of the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara will kick off on Thursday evening. This year, the tournament has seen 12 registered teams including the Katara team which grabbed the title in the first edition, the Ezghawa team which came second in the first edition, and both teams of Sharq and Old Al-Sulaitah who ranked third and fourth last year. 8 new teams are participating for the first time in the Kataras Ramadan Beach Volleyball Tournament 2016. The teams will be divided into two groups, one headed by the Ezghowi team and comprises of Al-Gharrafah, Sharq, Al-Waab, Najmah and Al-Doha teams; while the second includes the Katara, Um Ghwailenah, Al-Sultah, Al-Wakrah, Mshaireb and Al-Muntazah teams. Tomorrows first match at 9:15 pm will bring together the teams of Al-Gharrafah and Ezghowi which is looking forward to making up for losing the title last year and ranking second next to champion team Katara. Thursday night will also witness two other matches where Sharq team faces ambitious Al-Waab team and Najmah team faces Al-Doha team. The second edition of Kataras Ramadan Beach Volleyball Tournament 2016 will run from the 9th - 25th June as the Katara beach will be occupied with the best teams for volleyball in Qatar. The tournament is expected to attract droves of volleyball fans and teams supporters as a number of participating teams are eying the first title of the 2016 edition. (QNA)
