Khalid bin Hamad announces new boxing challenge

Manama, Feb. 18 (BNA): HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honourary President of Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation announced the launch of a new challenge of a 100-round-boxing fight. Part of HH Shaikh Khalid's humanitarian and sports initiatives, the event will take place next November and its proceeds will be dedicated to the families of the martyrs of duty and the injured veterans. On this occasion, HH Shaikh Khalid expressed delight at announcing this initiative, stating: "I am very happy to announce this new challenge, where I will participate in a 100-round-boxing fight. The event's proceeds will be donated to the families of our martyrs and the injured veterans who were among our brave soldiers taking part in the Saudi-led Operation Decisive Storm and Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen and those who didn't spare any effort to protect our country. The details of the fight will be unveiled later." Moreover, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa added: "We are keen to continue introducing new initiatives, especially those in support of the families of our brave martyrs and injured veterans in translation of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's instructions to provide them with the necessary assistance."
