Khalid bin Hamad attends BRAVE, KHK World Open Championship

Manama, Nov. 16 (BNA): HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee has witnessed the bouts which took place as part of BRAVE 31 and KHK World Open Championship which took place as part of the 2019 BRAVE International Combat Week. Considered as the biggest sports event at the Asian level, the one-week-long BRAVE International Combat Week will conclude on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Khalifa Sports City's GYM. The event has featured the 6th edition of the Amateur World Championship and BRAVE 31 as well as KHK International Open Championship. The Friday's fights were held amid high attendance of Their Highnesses, Their Excellencies, VIPs and dignitaries as well as many officials. "The MMA sport in the Kingdom is moving on the right track thanks to the joint efforts being exerted by all the international federations and the fighters towards developing their performances," HH Shaikh Khalid said. HH Shaikh Khalid further described the fights that took place as "highly exciting", stating that they "featured different strategies". HH Shaikh Khalid congratulated the winners in both events. The 1st KHK World World Open Championship, stemmed from the vision of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to develop the MMA sport, has triggered a wide-ranging excitement in the MMA world thanks to the mouthwatering prizes it will give to the winner, including a 6.2 kg built made of pure gold and $100,000 cash. The built was officially unveiled on Friday in a spectacular fashion as it was brought to the event by a helicopter with fans following the scene through the big screens installed at the event's venue. It's worth citing that the BRAVE International Combat Week will conclude today (Saturday, November 16, 2019).
