Manama, July 18 (BNA): Bahraini artists Abdullah Suwayed, Khalil Al Mutawa and Sami Rashdan praised the great role played by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Bahrain Athletics Association and Honourary President of the Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities in supporting the youth movement in Bahrain through pioneering initiatives in many areas, including sports, humanitarian work and theatre. They pointed out that the Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for youth centres, national clubs, young women, people with disabilities and communities is a pioneering initiative to enrich the march of the youth and sports movement in the Kingdom and the discovery of sports talent.  The 6th Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League is organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs in partnership with the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, from June 24 to August 9.  Suwayed affirmed that the Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League is a true meeting place for the Kingdom’s villagers, townspeople, and successive generations within an exciting competition. He added that this event achieves many goals, most notably enhancing patriotism and social ties among all participants.  “This sport gathering provides youth with the platform to launch their abilities and innovation in futsal, which contributes to the emergence and discovery of talents that benefit local clubs and the national team,” he added. Al Mutawa said, "Establishing this sports gathering is a pioneering idea that will achieve many aspirations by embracing Bahraini youth from all the governorates of the Kingdom in a fair competition, giving them the opportunity to highlight their potential. It also contributes to strengthening bonds of brotherhood and friendship among compatriots, promoting loyalty and patriotism –an objective which the wise leadership of the Kingdom always aspires to achieve through activities and events in the youth and sports sector.” Sanad Youth Centre qualified for the quarterfinals of the 6th Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League after beating Safra Youth Centre 4-0 in a one-sided match. Ali Abdulaziz and Mohammed Ibrahim found the net twice each to drive their team forward, but it was the latter who won the man of the match award. Muharraq Youth Centre have also progressed to the quarterfinals following a hard-earned 2-1 victory over Al Qadsiya Youth Centre. Abdullah Al Maliki scored one goal for the winners, taking home the best player award. Al Zallaq Youth Centre defeated Salmabad Youth Centre 4-2 to advance to the quarterfinals. Dumistan Youth Centre needed the penalty shootout to beat Muharraq Model Youth Centre and reach the quarterfinals. The match ended 3-3, and Jaffar Ali of Dumistan Youth Centre earned the best player award.
