Khalid bin Hamad Swim Challenge2015 begins

Al-Khobar, Apr. 18 (BNA): In the presence of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS) also President of Bahrain Athletics Association (BFA), the 31.5 km distance Khalid bin Hamad Swim Challenge2015 began at Sunset Resort in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, organized by the Khalid bin Hamad Foundation in support of cancer patients. The Australian swimming star Eric Watson has joined the challenge. Last year, the event was organized on March 14 under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Representative of HM the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports also President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), in which HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa successfully finished the distance of 42 km distance from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain in 20 hours. The organizing committee yesterday finalized all arrangements and preparations for the event from the starting point to the finishing point. The committee provided all atmospheres for Australia's swimming star Eric Watson. The committee also completed all the necessary preparations to receive Watson at the finishing line in Zallaq Sofitel Resort in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
