KHK MMA team vying for UFC on FOX 19 title in Florida

Manama, Apr. 13 (BNA): The KHK MMA team continues its preparations for the(UFC on FOX 19) FIGHT NIGHT, organized by the UFC Ultimate Fighting Championship at the US state of Florida on April 16, through the professional fighters IslamMakhachev and KhabibNurmagomedov. Khabib will face the American fighter HOCHER in the Lightweight’s main fight, while Makhachev will face the American fighter DREW DOBER at the UFC Fight Pass Early Prelims. Khabib aims to secure his undefeated record and to win the 23rd consecutive fight. The 27 year old fighter has huge popularity among audience for his outstanding performance throughout the championship. On the other hand, Islam aims to achieve his 13th victory and to overcome his lasts defeat in the UFC, through intensive preparations for his upcoming fight. Shahid: Khabib and Islam have outstanding records The CEO of KHK MMA team Mohammed Shahid affirmed that the participation of Khabib and Islam is an implementation of the directives of the First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and Founder of the KHK MMA team His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to boost the Kingdom’s status in major MMA championships. He also expressed the team’s keenness to achieve more gains and achievements in international championships, after the positive results achieved by the team in the previous year. The starting story of KHK MMA The KHK MMA team was established based on plans, strategies and support of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad, in which he launched an initiative regarding supporting the MMA sports and to promote this sports as a safe sport in a way which parallels the legislations of the IMMAF. His Highness started by launching the local and final qualifications which were held in March, April and May of 2015, and managed to form the heart of the KHK MMA team. His Highness officially launched the KHK MMA team last August as it included the best international fighters in this field of sport. The KHK MMA team managed to achieve huge successes in a record time in various competitions such as the positive results in the UFC- TUF 22 last December, the Asian Amateur trophy in January, in addition to the bronze medal of European Open Championships of Amateur MMA which was held in Birmingham UK last November. His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad’s efforts are still going on through his plans and strategies, aiming at honoring Bahrain in various international MMA championships.
