King boosts morale of Thai football players

BANGKOK, Dec 21 (TNA) - Thailand won the AFF Suzuki Cup Saturday for the first time since 2002, sealing the victory with two second-half goals at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia led 3-0 in the second leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup final. Thailand coach Kiattisak Senamuang said during an intermission, His Majesty the King’s personal secretary made a phone call to Thai team’s manager Kasem Jariyawatwong and conveyed the King’s message urging the Thai players not to lose hear and to continue playing with full efforts. Thai players’ morale was boosted and they fought back, getting two goals and were crowned champions with an aggregate score of 4-3. Thailand earlier won over Malaysia 2-0 in the first leg match in Bangkok on Wednesday. (TNA)
