Kuala Lumpur Golf And Country Club, BMW Malaysian Open New Venue

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 23 (Bernama) -- The BMW Malaysia Open Tennis 2016, women tennis tournament, will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC), a new venue from Feb 29 to March 6. The new venue has been designed for visitors to be able to park their cars within walking distance to the competition grounds, and it also has separate driveways for athlete and VIP vehicles, said the Tournament Director Keld Kristiansen in a statement issued by organiser BMW Malaysia Sdn Bhd here Saturday. The international tennis tournament offers a total prize money of US$250,000 (RM1,067,887) for this year and had been held at the Royal Selangor Golf & Country Club (RSGCC) in the previous edition. The tournament this year, the seventh year being held in Malaysia, expected to field some of the best women tennis athletes in the world, said Kristiansen, who is also Carbon Sports Sdn Bhd executive chairman. Carbon Sports Sdn Bhd is the promoter of the tournament which has been sanctioned by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). The 2016 line-up will be announced soon and spectators can expect to be rewarded with thrilling matches. While facilities are being upgraded, ticket prices will remain the same as for the 2016 event, stated the statement. Tickets can be purchased online via www.ticketpro.com.my or by calling Ticket Pro at 03-7880 7999, from Feb 1. Admission is free from Feb 28-March 4, and spectators have to buy tickets priced at RM33, RM53, RM63 and RM73 to watch the main draw from March 3 to 6.
