Kyrgyzstan’s Murtazaliyev wins title of World Grappling Champion

Bishkek, Sept.24, 2019 /Kabar/. Athlete from Kyrgyzstan Abdurakhman Murtazaliyev won the first place at the UWW World Grappling Championships in Kazakhstan, the results published on the United World Wrestling’ web site. The tournament is taking place in Nur-Sultan. Kyrgyzstan has 9 medals, of which one gold, one silver, and seven bronze medals. Murtazaliyev performed in the Gi discipline in the weight category up to 84 kg. In the quarterfinals he defeated American Jonathan Paul, then won Italia’s Riccardo Betty. In the fight for the title of champion, he met with Polish athlete Pavel Nedzi, the domestic wrestler was stronger than his rival. In the weight category up to 71kg, Kyrgyzstan's Abdyldabek Kekenov lost in the finals to Russia's Gayirbek Ibragimov and became the silver medalist of the competition.
