Kyrgyzstan’s weightlifters bag 16 medals at int’l tournament

Bishkek, Nov.14, 2019. /Kabar/. An international weightlifting tournament for the prizes of Olympic champion Kanybek Osmonaliyev has ended in Bishkek, the press service of the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of Kyrgyzstan reported. The competition, attended by more than 150 athletes, took place at the Sports Palace named after Kojomkul. Kyrgyz weightlifters won 16 medals. Ishenbek Muratbek uulu in weight up to 61 kg (229 kg), Emil Moldodosov in weight up to 81 kg (327 kg), Bekdoolot Rasulbekov in weight up to 102 kg (367 kg), among girls Zuhra Kurmanayeva in weight category up to 55 kg (156 kg), Raushan Cholponbek kyzy in weight up to 64 kg (170 kg) became the winners of the tournament. Silver medals were won by Anvar Ysmanov (292 kg), Sergey Komushev (312 kg), Askar Arzymbayev (249 kg), Galina Kuslina (134 kg) and Kanymzhan Almazbek kyzy (154 kg). At the end of the tournament, Rustam Tazhidinov (290kg), Alex Moskovtsev (295kg), Beksut Zholdosaliyev (267kg), Begulan Myrsabekov (244kg), Anastasia Ponamareva (65kg) and Kenzhegul Satylganova (80kg) won the bronze medals. Kanybek Osmonaliyev is a former Soviet weightlifter, Olympic champion and world champion. He won gold medal in the flyweight class at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow.
