Level 2 coaching course to conclude Thursday

Manama, Feb. 3 (BNA): A level 2 course to prepare national coaches in the field of sports, part of the National Coaching Programme, is set to conclude on Thursday in Juffair with 25 coaches, covering different sports, taking part. The course is being organised by the Sports Training and Development Centre, which is under the umbrella of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), and is taking place at the centre premises. The main them of the course, which has been running now for two weeks, is the technical and mental preparation of the course – which is part of the centre’s plan for 2016 with the objective of preparing and qualifying national coaches in a variety of sports. Some of the other subjects presented include ways of building a healthy environment for the players, helping the athletes to understand mental skills to improve their sport performance. The course also highlights the dangers of doping and the coach tasks to spread awareness among the athletes to avoid this phenomenon. Ways of setting up training sessions and the duration of sports training programme, and methods of these programmes to raise physical efficiency, defining physical and motor abilities in accordance to the type of sport are other subjects of the course. The participants will be subject to a final exam to pass the course in order engage in third-level course.
