Magnus Carlsen leads Vugar Hashimov memorial table

Shamkir, April 22 (AzerTAc). Norwegian Magnus Carlsen is leading the table of the Group A at an international chess tournament commemorating the late Azerbaijani grandmaster Vugar Hashimov in the city of Shamkir. Carlsen cemented his grip after defeating American Hikaru Nakamura in the second round. Also this round saw a draw between Azerbaijanis Shahriyar Mammadyarov and Teymur Rajabov, while Italian Fabiano Caruana drew with Russian Sergey Karyakin. In the Group B Alexander Motilyov of Russia defeated Azerbaijan`s Rauf Mammadov, while Ukrainian Pavel Elyanov beat Radosław Wojtaszek of Poland, and French Etienne Bacrot outclassed Vasif Durarbayli of Azerbaijan.
