Malaysia Awaits Medal In World Aquatics Championships

KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's medal coffer remains empty, five days after the opening of the FINA World Aquatics Championships being held at the Aquatics Palace, Kazan in Russia. In the Men's 3m Synchronised Springboard event on Tuesday, Ahmad Amsyar Azman and Ooi Tze Liang ended in 10th place with 401.37 points. As recorded in the championships' official website at www.kazan2015.com, athletes from China, Cao Yuan and Qin Kai dominated the event with 471.45 points. The silver medal went to Russians Evgenii Kuznetsov and Ilia Zakharov with 459.18 points while the bronze, to British Jack David Laugher and Chris Mears with 445.20 points. Meanwhile, national divers Pandelela Rinong Pamng and Nur Dhabitah Sabri will compete in the Women's 10m Platform event on Wednesday. The preliminary round for the event will start at 10 am local time (3 pm, Malaysia time). --BERNAMA
