Malaysia As Neutral Host Of AFC Futsal Championship Uzbekistan 2016 Qualifiers

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysia has been chosen as a neutral host of the AFC Futsal Championship Uzbekistan 2016 Qualifiers for the West Zone from Oct 1 to 3 at Nilai Indoor Stadium, in Negeri Sembilan state. According to the AFC Futsal Championship Uzbekistan 2016 Qualifiers draw held on Wednesday, Lebanon, currently seventh seeded, received a favourable draw in Group A together with Saudi Arabia (18th) and unranked team Bahrain and Jordan. Nith seeded Iraq have be drawn in Group B with Qatar and unranked UAE, said head of Club Competition, Kelly Sathiraj at the Multi-Purpose Hall AfC House in Bukit Jalil, here. Seeding for the AFC Futsal Championship Uzbekistan 2016 Qualifiers is based on the final rankings at the AFC Futsal Championship Vietnam 2014. The top four teams of the match will receive a slot to the final round competition of the AFC Futsal Championship 2016. There are four teams from the Central Zone Qualifiers to participate in one group, namely Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, to be played at Sports Palace Khujand, Tajikistan on Nov 14-16. The five teams to participate in the East Zone Qualifiers in one group are Mongolia, Chinese Taipei, China, Republic of Korea and Hong Kong at Buyant Ukhaa Sports Palace in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on Nov 14-19. Two slots will be automatically given to the top two of the teams in the Central Zone and East Zone. Japan, Iran and Uzbekistan were given automatic qualification to the final round of the AFC Futsal Championship 2016 as top ranked teams from the AFC Futsal Championship Vietnam 2014 ranking. However, Uzbekistan in hosting the final round competition is given automatic qualification to the final round. In the Asean Zone, 11 teams will compete in the 2015 AFF Futsal Championship to be held in Thailand from Oct 8 to 18, which will see the top four teams of the championship qualify for the 2016 AFC Futsal Championship. The AFC Futsal Championship Uzbekistan 2016 will also be a qualification event for the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup to be held in Colombia, with the top five teams qualifying for this tournament.
