Malaysian Badminton Squad Make Flying Start

Jing Yi, who played in the third match beat Mariama Eastmond in straight sets, 21-8 and 21-3. Malaysia's first point was won by Chan Peng Soon/Lai Pei Jing in the mixed doubles by beating Andre Padmore/Shari Watson, 21-11, 21-6. This was followed by men's singles player Chong Wei Feng who made short work of Dakeil Thorpe 21-6, 21-7. In the men's doubles event, Tan Wee Kiong/Goh Wei Shem beat Dakeil Thorpe/Andre Padmore 21-6, 21-8. Malaysia's final point was won by the women's doubles pair of Woon Khe Wei/Vivian Hoo Kah Mun who beat Mariama Eastmond/Shari Watson 21-8, 21-7. --BERNAMA
