Malaysian Contingent to ASC 2018 Wins Four Gold Medals

By Mohd Haikal Mohd Isa BANGKOK, Sept 6 (Bernama) – The national contingent was only able to bring home four gold medals at the ASEAN Skills Championships 2018 (ASC) which came to a close at Impact Arena Convention Centre Tuesday.       Contingent head Mohd Farith Adnan said the Malaysian contingent also collected a silver and five bronze medals. "The country's participants also won 21 medallions of excellence,” he told Bernama here Tuesday. The four gold, one silver and five bronze medals however was far below the target of 10 gold medals set by the contingent before the biennial skills competition was held.     The gold medals were contributed Muhammad Nur Hisyam Che Saupi (Automative Technology), Edward Eng Sheng Pei (Cooking), Amir Syazwan Saridan (Electrical Installation) and Haziq Fauzi Abdul Jalil (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning). The only silver medal was won via Hanafi Osman (Fashion Technology).  Malaysia was the overall champion in Kuala Lumpur ASC 2016 with a haul of 24 gold medals. -- BERNAMA
