Malaysian Kegler Captures Second Gold in Asian Bowling Meet

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 (Bernama) -- National men's kegler Timmy Tan rolled his way to a second personal gold medal at the 25th Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships after winning the All-Event category in the tournament in Kuwait on Monday. The 25-year-old, who retained his title in the men's singles category a few days ago, claimed the second gold after accumulating 5,805 pinfalls from four events -- singles, doubles, trios and also team of five, according to the Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) website; www.abf-online.org. China’s Du Jianchao and Kang Heewon of South Korea settled for silver and bronze after amassing 5,745 and 5,724 pinfalls respectively. The second gold from Tan brings Malaysia’s haul to three gold and two bronze medals. The other gold came from seasoned bowler Shalin Zulkifli in the women's singles while the bronze medals were contributed by the pair of Esther Cheah and Sin Li Jane in women's doubles and the men's trios of Tan, Hafiz Zainuddin and Tun Hakim Tun Hasnul Azam. -- BERNAMA
