Malaysians Pandelela-Mun Yee Clinch Second Bronze Medal At Diving World Series

KUALA LUMPUR, April 22 (Bernama) -- National women elite divers, Pandelela Rinong Pamg and Leong Mun Yee splashed their way to another bronze medal in the women's 10m synchronised platform in the final leg of the 2016 FINA Diving World Series in Kazan, Russia. Pandelela is partnering Mun Yee for the first time since last July's World Aquatics Championships at the same venue. The pair accumulated 303.42 points in the event held at Kazan Aquatic Palace on Friday. They won their first bronze in the opening round of the four-leg series in Beijing, China in March. Pandelela Rinong and Mun Yee only managed fourth placing in the other two legs held at Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Windsor, Canada. Meanwhile, China's Chen Roulin-Liu Huixia claimed the gold medal with 340.50 points while Canada's Roseline Filion-Meaghan Benfeito took the silver with 304.50 points. After the fourth leg of the competition, the Malaysian duo finished in fourth place accumulating 78 points, while China topped the leaderboard with 108 points. Pandelela Rinong will continue her quest for a medal in the 10m platform individual event Saturday. -- BERNAMA
