Mongolia to participate in Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A ceremony took place Monday in the Headquarters of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MonNOC) to see off Mongolian athletes to participate in the 2013 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. The Games will take place from June 29 through July 6 in Incheon, the Republic of Korea. Mongolia will be represented at the Games by 83 athletes to compete in nine events. Present at the ceremony were D.Zagdsuren, the MonNOC president; D.Surenkhorloo, acting head of the Sports Department of the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism; Ts.Damdin, the MonNOC vice president and chairman of the national team of Mongolia; and J.Otgontsagaan, the MonNOC secretary-general. A chess player and grandmaster B.Gundavaa has been selected as the flag bearer. It is expected that team for boxing will grab most medals. All 45 member countries of the Olympic Council of Asia is expected to compete at these Games. Also, a total of 12 sports have been approved for the Games.
