MONGOLIA PARTICIPATING IN TANK BIATHLON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Servicemen of the Mongolian Armed Forces are competing in the 2014 Tank Biathlon World Championship which kicked off Monday in the “Alabino” exercise field near Russian Moscow. The military competitions have brought together teams from Angola, Armenia, Belarus, Venezuela, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Kuwait, Mongolia, Russia and Serbia. Some 20 countries have sent observes, says a spokesman of Russia’s Defense Ministry said. Each country is represented by four crews--three main and one backup. All countries except China are taking part in the events with Russian-made T-72B tanks, brightly painted in four types of camouflage color--yellow, red, blue and green. The Mongolian crew uses red tanks. The championship is running in four stages--individual race, the sprint, the pursuit race and relay race. The championship will finish on August 16.
