M'sia To Host Festival International Sports Extreme World In Langkawi

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 (Bernama) -- Malaysia will be the first country in South East Asia to host Festival International Sports Extreme (FISE) World Malaysia at Dataran Pekan Rabu in Langkawi from 18 to 20 Dec. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), Khalid Ramli said, total of 4,000 athletes were expected to take part in the event. The competition open for both amateurs and professionals will feature rollerblading, BMX and skateboard. FISE's first ever world tour included four stops, starting in Montpellier, followed by Andorra and China. Malaysia is the last stop this year. "This event is the right choice to gain more local and international tourists to visit Langkawi. Moreover this time is the school holiday, so I expect more spectators at the FISE," he told reporters, here Tuesday. Meanwhile, CEO of MyCEB, Zulkefli Sharif said FISE was testament to Malaysia's capability to host large-scale outdoor action events. -- BERNAMA
