Nasser 8 Football Juniors tournament announced

Manama, June 23 (BNA): Following the directives of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, the supreme organising committee of the first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and eighth Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser 8) organises Nasser 8 football academies juniors tournament. The committee announced the matches table which will include two groups that consists of four teams each. Playing in Group A are Viva, Al Najma, Arsenal and Kick Off teams, while Group B includes Super, Royal Charity Organisation, Real Madrid and Discovery teams. The opening match will be held on Saturday the 27th of June at 9:30 pm on the field of Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town. HH Shaikh Nasser Media and Information Centre Head and Nasser 8 Supreme Organising Committee Chairman Tawfeeq Al Salehy said the tournament is organised as per the instructions of HH Shaikh Nasser, aiming at improving the juniors and youth football sectors in Bahrain, granting them an opportunity to develop their talents and strengthen their skills. Al Salehy said the tournament aims to rehabilitate football talents according to certain age groups and enhance their skills. BENZEMA, A NEW ADDITION TO NASSER 8 Talks are in progress to recruit France National Football Team Captain and Real Madrid Star Karim Benzema in Victorious team in the team’s upcoming semi-final match against Al Fakhar on Saturday. The team announced that Benzema’s recruitment would add to the excitement of the tournament as he will be the second international professional in Nasser 8, after Batelco Gunners United successfully made an agreement with Africa’s Best Player in 2007 and Seville Player Fredric Omar Kanoute last week. NASSER 8 VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT KICKS OFF TODAY Bahrain Volleyball Association President Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa praised HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee for directing to improve Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games by adding several sports to the schedule of the championship including volleyball, basketball and handball. Shaikh Ali said the tournament gives Bahraini youth the opportunity to play their favorite sports and demonstrate their talents in a sportsmanship and friendly atmosphere. He said the championship will have a positive impact on group sports in Bahrain and contributes in discovering new talents and preserve the performance of players in the local league. Shaikh Ali said the association completed its preparations and all administrative procedures for the tournament. In the first match, Bani Jamra will play Bahrain National Youth Team at 9 pm today on the field of Bahrain Volleyball Association, while Muharraq and Al Najma Clubs play at 11 pm.
