National Committee for Traffic Safety's Follow Up Committee Meets Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy

Doha, May 30 (QNA) - The follow up committee of the National Committee for Traffic Safety, chaired by HE Undersecretary for Ministry of Education and Higher Education Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, met here today with the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy as part of a series of meetings it is holding with the designated authorities to follow up on the implementation of the National Road Safety Strategy. The attendees stressed that the supreme committee's projects of the Supreme Committee are vital to realizing the goals of the National Road Safety Strategy. They added that the role of the follow up committee is to support the Supreme Committee in its plans, and addressing any challenges facing the completion of the projects. They recommended a review for the location of street signs, in order to facilitate the process of guiding those driving through or walking on those streets. They also stressed the importance of beginning the implementation of the traffic plans related to the World Cup 2022, such as closing Al Corniche, as well as encouraging people to use public transport during the world cup, in addition to relying on smart traffic lights to control the flow of fans during matches.
